How to Stop or Prevent Muscle Loss
Knowing how to stop muscle loss is essential for all bodybuilders and weight trainers since we all know how hard it is to grow the muscle in the first place so we definitely do not want to lose muscle if we can help it. Of course the best way to prevent muscle loss is to keep training consistently but what about if you are sick or simply cannot get to the gym, how do you stop or prevent the muscle loss in that case? Believe it or not there is a relatively easy way to stop or prevent muscle loss at your finger tips.
The most effective way in regards how to stop or prevent muscle loss is simply to eat more protein. It is through eating protein that you are able to build the muscle after stimulating your muscles to grow in the gym but it is a direct result of protein absorption that keeps a positive nitrogen balance in your body which is essential for muscle growth. While your body remains in a positive nitrogen balance your muscles are essentially in an anabolic state and while you stay this way you will prevent muscle loss. However, you cannot build new muscle without training the muscles regularly and your ability to stop muscle loss diminishes over time.
So when considering how to stop or prevent losing muscle the best plan of attack is to continue to keep eating a high dose of protein ideally every 3 hours and you will prevent or stop muscle loss for a period of time. Eating sufficient protein when you have to miss your training for a few days to a week will certainly help stop or prevent muscle loss in the short term but in the long term the only way to stop or prevent muscle loss is to at least train all muscle groups in the body with moderate weights once or twice per week and eat sufficient protein as well.
