Consistency Builds Big Arms
For those looking for seriously big arms, nothing beats consistency. The key to building big arms is the same key ingredient needed to be a success in any area of life and that is consistency. You need to be consistent in your training, have a consistent amount of rest each day and most importantly you need to be consistent with your eating. The only way you are ever going to get enough protein in your system to build the kind of big arms you want is to eat, eat and eat some more.
Training with consistency is the reason huge bodybuilders get so big and the reason why there are so few really huge guys out there. It takes a lot of discipline to go to the gym for each one of your scheduled workouts each day, week in week out and for years on end. Of course you might miss the occasional workout but if your goal is to be really big and muscular you should rarely ever miss a workout. I read an article by 8 times Mr. Olympia Lee Haney a while back and he said he never missed a workout for any other reason than sickness. If he had planned to go to the gym on any given day he would always go unless he was sick which was very rarely. It is due to his incredible consistency that he became a champion bodybuilder and was reigning world bodybuilding champion for almost a decade.
Training for big arms is all about consistency. You need to hit every part of your arms with equal dedication to build a giant set of guns. Most people like to train biceps and perhaps even over do the bicep training a bit but neglect to train their triceps and forearms either at all or with the same intensity as they blast their biceps. When I was still in school I was guilty of this. I wanted to be big but I didn’t know what I was doing at that stage as I trained at home in my garage and all I ever did was train biceps and chest almost everyday which of course is too often. It wasn’t until I joined my local gym and started talking to some bodybuilders that I realized if I wanted big arms and a big body overall I needed to do a lot more than just hit biceps and chest.
I will go into more detail in other articles about how often to train your forearms, biceps and triceps but the thing you need to know right from the beginning, if you want big arms and a big body, is to be consistent with the 3 pillars for ultimate growth. The 3 essential pillars for massive physical growth are the following, eating, resting and training. All are absolutely crucial for serious growth and if you become inconsistent in just one of those 3 areas, the other 2 areas will ultimately suffer.
I learned very early in my training career that consistency builds muscle and the truth is this is probably one of the most important messages I have learned about success in bodybuilding and in life. Consistency not only builds muscle but with consistency and perseverance it would be almost impossible to fail in any pursuit you put your mind to.
