Choosing a Personal Trainer
As a personal trainer myself, the best advice I can give you when choosing a personal trainer is to take a look at his or her body because that is the best advertisement of their skill as a personal trainer as you will ever get. What I am saying is, if the trainer has a lean muscular body you know for sure that he or she knows how to build a lean muscular body. If the trainer has a large muscular body and looks like a bodybuilder, you know he or she knows how to build a bodybuilders physique.
When choosing a personal trainer you should look for the trainer that has the body type you want since first of all you know they are capable of building such a body, because how they already look is how you want to look. Also by choosing a personal trainer who has the type of body you want yourself, you will have something immediately in common with the trainer, since you both aspire to the same body type. Your trainer will be more interested in you if he or she has what you want and will be the one to help you get your ideal body. Usually people who like or want the same things in life get on well together. Bodybuilders get along well with other bodybuilders, runners get on well with other runners, usually anyway.
If you are looking for a personal trainer and come across trainers who have a body you don’t like it will be difficult for you to put your trust in them since they don’t have the body you want. However, one thing that I would advise is to also consider choosing a personal trainer who is a bodybuilder since bodybuilders live and breathe training. A bodybuilder lives the bodybuilding lifestyle and in most cases will know the best and fastest ways to gain muscles safely or lose fat fast. In general I believe bodybuilders make the best personal trainers because they have usually tried and experimented so much with their own body that they are usually the most capable in helping you reach whatever type of body your aspire to.
Another good idea to keep in mind when choosing a personal trainer is to find someone you get along with. If you don’t gel in a friendly kind of way you might have difficulty putting your faith and trust in the trainer. Your trainer can still make you work hard and push you to the limit and still be a nice guy or girl but if you choose a trainer you don’t personally like this will not be a healthy trainer/trainee relationship and you probably won’t get the results you want or you might even skip your training sessions if you dislike your trainer.
One more suggestion when choosing a personal trainer is to consider a trainer who is recommended by someone you know who has achieved good results with a particular personal trainer. If someone will vouch for the skill of a trainer and tell you or you can see by looking at how much of an improvement they have made with their own physique, perhaps that personal trainer can help you sculpt the body you want as well.
